ZirMed’s Betty Gomez elected Vice President of the Cooperative Exchange
The Cooperative Exchange, the National Health Clearinghouse Association representing organizations in the healthcare information technology and transaction industry, today announced the election of its new 2014 executive team.
Effective immediately the new Cooperative Exchange officers are President Sherry Wilson of Jopari Solutions, Inc.; Vice President Betty Gomez of ZirMed; Treasurer Kathy Sites of Availity; and Secretary Joseph Bell of ClaimRemedi.
“I look forward to taking the helm of the Cooperative Exchange at such a pivotal time in our organization’s history,” stated newly-elected President Sherry Wilson. “One of my first initiatives is to achieve broader input by creating an Executive Strategic Advisory Board to accelerate and expand the influence that the Cooperative Exchange can bring to related organizations in addition to industry governance bodies.”
“One of the key objectives for the organization is providing to our health care delivery system a greater understanding of the significant value that clearinghouses offer,” said Ms. Wilson. Clearinghouses have extensive capabilities they can deliver as we work collaboratively to achieve administrative simplification, and the resulting outcome will reduce the burden and healthcare costs for all stakeholders.”
Added Ms. Wilson: “The Cooperative Exchange is uniquely positioned with strong leadership, an engaged membership, and a collective focus to drive EDI adoption that facilitates the business portion of healthcare. I along with the newly appointed CE officers look forward to expanding CE’s pivotal role in this crucial effort.”
