Every spring, Broadway Street in Louisville sees a different kind of traffic than the usual buses and trucks. Local kids march in the street…celebrities descend and make themselves known to a roaring crowd of thousands…and along with the scent of dogwood blossoms, the air is filled with giant inflatable objects tugging at the hands of volunteers, who smile at their friends and family as they keep the oversized characters tethered to the earth.
It’s the Pegasus Parade.
The parade has been part of the annual Derby Festival in Louisville since 1956. This was the sixth year that ZirMed employees volunteered to participate. Check out the pictures below for a behind-the-scenes look—and consider coming to Louisville next spring for the races, Derby Week events, and a visit to ZirMed!
